Overview

Why You Should Attend
July 21, 2015 marked the deadline for all firms to be compliant with The Volcker Rule.  In the years prior to this date, many firms reformed or eliminated some business lines to achieve compliance while some banks still struggle to meet their compliance obligations today.  The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve granted extensions and is prepared to further delay the conformance period for banks tackling compliance issues regarding their legacy covered funds.  Firms that are still searching for a workable divestment strategy or conformance plan at this stage highlight the difficulty in meeting the Rule’s standards while preventing undesirable aftereffects to the market.

Our esteemed faculty will address this topic along with a range of compliance and enforcement challenges that industry participants faced in 2015 and, in some cases, continue to grapple with today.  The program’s comprehensive agenda will feature the latest thinking and lessons from the regulatory and industry perspectives, as well as from experienced attorneys who have been advising clients through the Rule’s complexities.

What You Will Learn
• How the regulators are providing and coordinating advice on the Rule
• Proprietary Trading - readiness at banks and the regulators, preparing for examinations
