CLE Requirements: The Virginia State Bar requires attorneys to complete 12 credits, including 2 ethics credits, by October 31 every year. All credits must be reported by December 15. Attorneys are limited to 8 credits of pre-recorded programs per compliance period. Attorneys are required to fulfill a minimum of 4 credits via live programs. A maximum of 12 credits may be carried over to the next compliance period, only 8 of which (including 2 ethics) may come from pre-recorded programs. Beginning November 1, 2019, each active member of the Virginia State Bar shall certify whether they have attended, within the past three years, at least one credit hour of lawyer well-being education related to the practice of law. Failure to comply with this rule shall not subject the member to the penalties of Paragraph 13.2 of these rules. Completing Your Virginia Requirements with PLI: PLI and SEC Institute's live seminars, live webcasts and co-sponsored locations qualify as "live" credit. PLI is an Accredited Sponsor with the Virginia State Bar. Providers are required to submit applications for each program.
Attendance Reporting: Attorneys must report their own attendance to the Virginia State Bar via www.vsb.org
