Biography

Allison Passman is a Chief Trial Attorney in the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Division of Enforcement in the Chicago office. As a Chief Trial Attorney, Allison supervises a team of trial attorneys and investigators and represents the Division in enforcement actions that are filed in the United States District Courts. She has investigated and litigated a broad range of matters involving spoofing, manipulation, false statements, misappropriation of confidential information, disruptive trading, swaps reporting, fraud, supervision, and cryptocurrency fraud and registration violations, among other abuses and violations of the Commodity Exchange Act and related Regulations that threaten market integrity.  

Allison is also the co-chair of the Division’s Anti-Corruption Task Force, through which she advises the Director of legal and policy issues and coordinates investigations and cooperative enforcement parallel actions. 

Allison received the 2018 Chairman’s Award for Exceptional Service. 

Before joining the CFTC in 2011, Allison worked in the White Collar and Government Investigations group at Latham & Watkins. 

Allison also clerked in the Northern District of Illinois after graduating cum laude from Northwestern University School of Law in 2005. Allison obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration with highest honors from Emory University in 2001.
