Biography

Cristian Eduardo (he/him)

Cristian champions anti-trafficking initiatives, particularly the Equality Model, and fervently advocates for immigrant and LGBTQ+ rights. As a survivor of international and domestic human trafficking, a queer Mexican immigrant, and an individual living with HIV, he addresses the mental health challenges often encountered by trauma survivors. He serves as a Survivor Leader and Steering Committee Member at New Yorkers for the Equality Model. Cristian Eduardo is also engaged with various Survivors' Advisory Boards and Councils, including the Alliance to End Human Trafficking, Sanctuary for Families, United States Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, PACT-USA, Exodus Road and the New York City HIV Planning Group. Additionally, he co-chairs the New York State Anti-Trafficking Coalition and holds a board membership at the New Jersey Coalition Against Human Trafficking. Furthermore, Cristian Eduardo is a co-founder of United Immigrants of New York and Mujeres en Resistencia, coalitions focused on raising awareness and educating about gender-based violence, including femicide, and providing accessible resources to the Spanish-speaking and Latino-immigrant communities.
