Biography

Jim Martin serves as an Assistant General Counsel of New Jersey Resources Corporation, a diversified energy company that is the parent company of New Jersey Natural Gas, and NJR Clean Energy Ventures, one of the largest renewable energy companies in New Jersey. Jim concentrates in the areas of environmental law, employment law, and energy law, and serves as a member of NJR’s Sustainability Council. Jim previously served as a Deputy Attorney General of the State of New Jersey, where he represented the Board of Public Utilities and Department of Environmental Protection for a number of years, and then as Assistant Attorney General for Litigation in the Division of Law, where he concentrated on constitutional and regulatory litigation and appeals in the federal and state courts. 

Jim earned an A.B. from Georgetown University and a J.D. from the Fordham University School of Law. He is admitted to the Bars of the States of New Jersey and New York, and the District of Columbia.
