Biography

Lauren Zack is a Clinical Supervising Attorney and Lecturer in Law at the Stanford Community Law Clinic (CLC), where she supervises law students in their representation of vulnerable clients in housing and disability benefits matters. Alongside clinic director Juliet Brodie, she and her students maintain a low-volume eviction defense practice, where students enrolled in the clinic provide full-scope representative to a small number of tenants subject to eviction actions in San Mateo County.

After graduating from Stanford Law School in 2017, Lauren clerked for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the District of Nevada. She then spent two years at Public Counsel in Los Angeles as an Equal Justice Works fellow representing transition-age foster youth, with a focus on vehicle tows and traffic tickets. In 2021, Lauren returned to Stanford Law School to work at the CLC, first as a fellow and now as a clinical instructor.

Lauren lives in San Jose with her husband and two cats. She loves reading novels, visiting her sisters in Colorado and Arizona, and playing complicated board games.
