Biography

Mira Ricardel is a recognized national security expert and Principal at The Chertoff Group, where she advises clients on managing geopolitical and regulatory risk with a focus on foreign direct investment, export controls, and supply chain security. She is a non-Executive Board Director of Titomic, LTD, an international additive manufacturing company headquartered in Australia. She also serves on the Proxy Board of Astroscale U.S., an innovative space company specializing in satellite life extension and inspection, as well as active debris removal. From 2016 - 2018, Ricardel held Presidential appointments at the Department of Commerce and The White House. While at The White House she was Assistant to the President and the Deputy National Security Advisor. Prior to that she served as the Under Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration, leading the Bureau of Industry and Security where she played a leadership role in the development of updated regulations for the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), dual-use export controls under the Export Control Reform Act (ECRA), and policy directives related to supply chain security. For nearly a decade Ricardel was vice president of business development in Network & Space Systems at The Boeing Company. Immediately prior to and following 9/11, Ricardel served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Eurasia and then Principal Deputy and Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy. Earlier in her career, Ricardel held positions at the State Department and on Capitol Hill, to include legislative assistant to Senate Republican Leader and Presidential candidate Bob Dole.
