Biography
Nicole Fraser participates in The Global Pro Bono Bar Association, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in the United States, as a Volunteer Coordinator. She has coordinated a range of international civil society efforts, including a virtual internship program that facilitated remote interactive internship opportunities among law students in Asia, Australia, and the United States in order to develop cross-border professional collaboration in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nicole also supervises research efforts for a team of international law practitioners and academics in an ongoing legal research project to explore the potential for mass claims to be asserted in investment treaty arbitration by victims of violations of international law.
Nicole is admitted as a Solicitor in New South Wales, Australia. Her legal practice interest lies in public international law and investor-state arbitration, stemming from her professional experiences and international volunteer work across three continents. While her educational background is in sociology and law, she holds the LL.M. degree from the University of New England, having examined the ability of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to increase minority group representation in United Nations’ decision-making processes in the course of her thesis work. Nicole's studies in international law include participation in the Winter Courses of the Hague Academy of International Law as well as developing her professional focus in the law and practice of public international law.
