Biography
Ron Schmidt has been with the Internal Revenue Service for 33 years. He was an Internal Revenue Agent conducting field income tax examinations of small and medium size businesses for 12 years. He started in the Bank Secrecy Act Program in 2003 and has conducted numerous examinations of casinos (commercial and tribal) and card clubs for compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act. He has also conducted BSA compliance examinations of large MSBs (Money Service Businesses) and other entities that the IRS BSA Program examines. He became a Supervisory Internal Revenue Agent in May 2021. The group he supervises conducts BSA compliance examinations of casinos; as well as other Non-Bank Financial Institutions subject to the Bank Secrecy Act. The group also conducts F8300 compliance reviews of Non-Financial Trades and Businesses. He is a CPA, licensed in California.
