Biography

Shilpa Patel is a Senior Legal Project Manager with Foley Hoag LLP in Washington, D.C. She leads the firm’s initiative to implement and develop legal project management. She advises senior leadership, partners, and matter teams on the efficient management of legal matters, including project planning, budget preparation, fee and scope management, risks assessment and mitigation, and status reporting. With over 20 years of experience in the legal field, her areas of expertise are project management, process improvement, change management, data analytics, and legal technology.

Prior to joining Foley, she was the first Legal Project Manager to consult with client teams at Paul Hastings under the Practice Innovation Department. During her four years, she improved firm profitability and client satisfaction by utilizing project and process management methodologies and tools, and standardizing the delivery process. Formerly, as a Manager at Deloitte for five years, she advised on eDiscovery and Information Governance for multiple litigation-related matters with the Department of Navy, Office of General Counsel.

Shilpa is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) through Project Management Institute (PMI) and a certified Legal Project Manager through the LPM Institute. She is a licensed member of the State of Georgia Bar and the District of Columbia Bar. She earned her Organizational and Leadership Coaching (OLCC) certification from Northwestern University, and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia School of Law.
