Overview
Why You Should Attend
This program will provide an overview of the basics of U.S. immigration law, including current developments and trends, and will be extremely useful to attorneys who are beginning their immigration practice, as well as those who need a refresher on immigration law or are involved in immigration policy work.

• Understand basics of the U.S. immigration system and current developments
• Recognize the difference between nonimmigrant (temporary) and immigrant (permanent/green card) visas
• Identify various visa categories
• Note key issues concerning family-sponsored visas
• Examine the basics of removal proceedings and review inadmissibility
• Understand the process of naturalization
• Spot issues when seeking to protect an employer from sanctions
• Evaluate unique ethical issues in immigration practice
