Overview
Why You Should Attend
Significant trends associated with the compensatory practices of U.S. listed companies are often reported upon in the mainstream and financial press and other emerging patterns can otherwise be observed through those publicly filed documents that such companies are required to file in accordance with applicable securities law requirements. However, for the many unlisted and other private companies that are not required to make such filings, the trends, practices and challenges may be harder to assess. The experienced practitioner knows that there is no terra firma in this world and that compensation-related issues and developments need constant vigilance. Those who think they have seen it all are again and again surprised because of a new rule, a new market development, or a new competitive factor or a product innovation arrives to upend established expectations. Private companies, private equity funds and their portfolio companies, startups, and closely held mature ventures face relentless competitive compensation considerations and need to be equipped to meet both the legal and commercial challenges.
This program is specifically designed to bring leading experts to discuss advanced developments on compensation and other “reward” practices for the non-publicly traded company and to offer practical insights in addition to sorting through the many legal complexities present. While there is something for practitioners at every level, this program will assume significant knowledge and fluency.
What You Will Learn
After completing this program, participants will be better prepared to:
- Compare leading practitioners’ perspectives on compensation trends affecting non-public companies broadly
- Refine their insights and translate experienced views into better practice
- Examine the latest legal, tax reform, securities law and other regulatory developments, cases and trends of interest
Who Should Attend
Practitioners with advanced experience in executive compensation, including practitioners at law firms and in-house at companies, as well as those business leaders at private equity firms and other privately-held companies—and those at public companies that may purchase private companies (or later sell them)—will most benefit from this program.
A lineup of hand-picked seasoned experts will offer a diversified mix of topics to help those who are already advanced and current to maintain that status. It will also help experienced practitioners stay ahead of the curve on advanced compensation. While tailored to those having familiarity with executive compensation legal practice, professionals of all levels will find insights that will be of interest to all.
