Overview
The Twenty-Third Annual Private Equity Forum will examine the legal issues and prevailing industry trends faced by corporate and securities attorneys, accountants, and other professionals involved in the fund-raising and financing businesses. This day and a half program has been entirely revamped, and will address the trends in private equity structures, the growing market for co-investment transactions, the architecture of sponsor-led restructuring deals, and the best practices for preparing a fund for overseas investing.
This year’s forum will tackle several new topics of discussion. The SEC’s new Marketing Rule was long-awaited, and now that it is in effect with a November 2022 deadline to transition to it’s requirements, our faculty of experts will address what it will mean for private equity managers. The forum will spend time highlighting social impact funds, reviewing terms unique to such funds and their structuring considerations. Crypto-assets are a part of the program as well, with a discussion on how to best guide investors and to best understand the regulatory environment surrounding these assets. Also new this year is an in-depth look at fund terms, and the updates made in the evolving market for private equity terms.
Unique to the Private Equity Forum is the review of current diversity initiative trends for private equity attorneys. How and where can the industry do better? How can attorneys encourage diverse perspectives and counteract bias? Attendees will learn best practices for increasing diversity in the investment industry attorney population.
