Biography
Amanda Bosley is a Supervising Attorney and manages the Disaster Relief Unit at Lone Star Legal Aid (LSLA) in Houston, Texas. LSLA is a nonprofit organization with the mission to protect and advance the civil legal rights of low-income Texans. She also serves as Content Manager for the Advocates for Disaster Justice website, which provides legal help information to survivors and facilitates connections among lawyers and advocates involved in disaster response and recovery.
Amanda began her work at LSLA in 2015 representing disaster survivors as an Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps Legal Fellow. Following that, she worked on the Foreclosure Prevention Project at LSLA but returned to manage the Disaster Relief Unit in 2019. She has represented clients after major disasters in the Houston area, including the 2015 Memorial Day and 2016 Tax Day floods, Hurricane Harvey, Tropical Storm Imelda, the COVID-19 pandemic, and beyond. She has trained legal aid attorneys nationwide and has presented at numerous CLE events on the topic of Disaster Law.
Amanda is a graduate from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi, and South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas.
