Biography
Franny Wang is a Principal in the Partnership Transaction Planning and Economics Group in the National Tax Office of Ernst & Young LLP. Franny has over 15 years of experience in advising clients in federal income tax matters and specializes in the use of partnerships and limited liability companies in domestic and cross-border joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, IPO transactions, financing transactions, and restructurings.
Education and professional qualifications
Franny received her B.A. in economics and political science (magna cum laude) from the University of Pennsylvania and her J.D. and LL.M. in tax from the New York University School of Law. Franny is a member of the American Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in New York.
Selected experience
Franny has extensive experience advising a diverse set of clients, including private equity funds, hedge funds, and multinational corporations, across a wide range of industry sectors, including real estate, infrastructure, financial services (including wealth management and private equity), and oil and gas, in partnership and related tax aspects of U.S. and multinational planning and restructuring transactions and mergers and acquisitions.
Franny is one of EY’s leaders in thought leadership on partnership tax, including numerous provisions relating to the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act such as opportunity zone planning and the passthroughs deduction under Section 199A.
