Biography

As a Director of SEC Institute, George M. Wilson designs and leads workshops and conferences addressing a broad range of SEC and accounting related topics, including programs focused on SEC reporting skills, MD&A in depth, operating segment disclosures, business combination accounting, and SPACs. He also provides custom tailored on-site trainings for accounting firms and public companies. Before joining SEC Institute, George was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting at the University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where he served as Director of the University's Accounting MBA program. George was also Senior Vice President, Operations, of Security Financial where he managed the organization's initial public offering and was a Senior Manager with KPMG. George led continuing professional education programs for several state societies of CPAs and the AICPA and has received the AICPA's Outstanding Discussion Leader Award and the Minnesota State Society's R. Glenn Berryman Award.
