Biography

Karen Moore is a compliance, ethics and privacy professional with demonstrated success and twenty years of experience designing, implementing and maturing corporate compliance and privacy programs in global companies. She is the founder of Sounding Board Compliance, which provides advisory services to corporate officers, board members and compliance professionals. Karen also co-designed and teaches a foundational course in corporate compliance as an adjunct professor at Fordham University School of Law. A frequent speaker on compliance and ethics matters, Karen also appears as a panelist on the award-winning podcast, Everything Compliance.

A member of the NY bar, Karen started her law career as a judicial clerk at the US Court of International trade, after which she spent several years in private practice with the global law firm, Baker & McKenzie. She then held various senior in-house law and compliance positions with Philip Morris International, NASDAQ and Inchcape Shipping Services. She most recently served as the Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer at Unisys Corporation.  

An avid skier and lifelong Gilbert & Sullivan fan, Karen teaches beginner skiing at Liberty Mountain and serves on the Board of the Vicotrian Lyric Opera Company. Karen holds a BA from Middlebury College, a JD from Emory University, and a certificate of European legal studies from Leiden University. Currently based in the Washington DC metro area, she has also lived and worked in Moscow, Russia, and Lausanne, Switzerland.
