Biography

James Lyman is Senior Counsel in the Division of Enforcement in the Los Angeles Regional Office of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. James joined the SEC in 2014, where he engages in all aspects of enforcement of the federal securities laws including surveilling to identify potential violations, conducting investigations and developing legal theories, and litigation. Significant matters include cases concerning disclosure frauds, insider trading, Ponzi schemes, and anti-money laundering and Bank Secrecy Act violations. Before joining the SEC, James was an associate at Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP and Hogan Lovells, and a law clerk for the Hon. Lewis T. Babcock of the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. James graduated Order of the Coif from the University of Colorado Law School in 2007.
