Biography
Liza McAndrew Moberg has spent approximately equal amounts of her professional career in the private sector at a major accounting firm and in cross-border public company disclosure policy roles. Currently, she is a member of the IFRS Foundation’s Regulatory Affairs team, supporting regulatory engagement on sustainability reporting. She also is an independent consultant specializing in international corporate disclosure and assurance policy and regulation.
Liza previously held senior positions with regulatory authorities responsible for financial reporting and audit in the U.S. capital markets. As director of the Office of International Affairs of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, Liza led the PCAOB’s coordination with authorities around the world on audit firm supervision and enforcement. In that capacity, she was the lead negotiator on regulatory access to Chinese audit firms and lead advisor on implementation of the Holding Foreign Companies Accountable Act. Previously, Liza was senior adviser to the director of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's Office of International Affairs, extensively involved in financial reporting policy affecting non-U.S. companies listed in U.S. markets. She joined the SEC as a professional accounting fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant's International Affairs group.
Prior to her regulatory roles, Liza spent over a decade in PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP’s assurance practice. Her audit experience began in Silicon Valley and continued in Europe, serving one of the firm’s largest audit clients. Liza later consulted on complex accounting and reporting matters as a senior manager in PwC's national office, specializing in U.S. and international standards. She is a certified public accountant (California).
