Biography
Naomi Obinata is Head of Legal at Kyocera SLD Laser, a semiconductor laser diode manufacturer. Kyocera SLD Laser devices are used in automobile headlamps and other lighting appliances, and have applications in sensing, communications and biomedical products. Naomi has spent most of her 20+ year career in-house at various technology companies, working on a variety of intellectual property matters from patent prosecution to litigation to technology transactions. In the last 10 years, Naomi has focused on commercial transactions and regulatory matters. Naomi attended the University of California at Berkeley where she obtained a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, worked as an engineer for 2 years, and earned her J.D at Santa Clara University School of Law.
