Biography

Pilar helps large and middle-market companies maximize value in complex deal environments. She is a senior leader with 25+ years of expertise across the deal lifecycle, helping financial and strategic clients negotiate capital market solutions, design EBITDA improvement programs, optimize working capital and manage stakeholder communications. She has deep experience implementing complex transactions–including distressed going concerns, separations and recapitalization transactions. She works in a wide range of industries with a deep spike on automotive and industrial.  

Relevant Experience 

• Advisor to CWT on its successful global recapitalization transaction 
• Assisted the special committee of the board of directors of Intelsat Jackson Holdings S.A. in matters related to the global restructuring and recapitalization transactions of Intelsat 
• Advised Garrett Motion in its global recapitalization and restructuring  
• Interim management at Vari-Form, a PE-backed supplier of automotive and hydroforming technologies to OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers during its value-maximizing divestiture of its businesses in a series of transactions 
• Drove comprehensive EBITDA improvement program at global PE-owned steel services provider with operations in the US, South America and Europe 
• Advised Sequa Corporation, a large aerospace parts manufacturer, on liquidity management and process matters in connection with its successful recapitalization 
• Led the operational implementation of carve-out and sale of Dana Corporation’s core business to a financial buyer as part of its comprehensive restructuring  
• Executed and implemented sale, carve-out or recapitalization transactions at CWT, Vari-Form, Appvion Paper, Walter Energy, Dana Corporation, Charter Communications, Fruit of the Loom, Cable & Wireless and Hayes Lemmerz  
• Assisted a large confidential automotive client with contingency planning for certain of its operations in Southeast Asia 
• Interim management at Vari-Form, Atkins Nutritionals and Cable & Wireless during their respective transactions
