Biography
David Wheat is a Partner in the Houston office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Most recently, David was Principal in KPMG’s Washington National Tax Practice. He has an L.L.M. in Taxation from NYU. He is a former Chair of the ABA Corporate Tax Committee and a current Vice Chair for the ABA Tax Section. He is also a former Chair of the Dallas Bar Tax Section and the State Bar of Texas Tax Section. David Wheat has been voted by his peers as one of the Best Lawyers in Dallas in his field and a Top 100 “Texas Super Lawyer” in Texas Monthly, and has been selected one of the Best Lawyers in America and Who’s Who Legal: Corporate Tax. His practice focuses on corporate tax, financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, workouts and restructurings.
