Biography
Sherin M. Vollmuth is Senior Counsel in the Data Protection Office of the SAP Group at SAP, the market leader in enterprise application software that uses machine learning, Internet of Things (IoT), and advanced analytics technologies to help turn customers’ businesses into intelligent enterprises.
Sherin advises on a range of global issues including domestic and international compliance, data breach incident and response, company-wide guidelines for key topics such as privacy policies and data subject rights, and internal trainings and creation of privacy-related resources to clients within the SAP Group. She also serves as the primary implementation lead for the SAP Group on the California Consumer Privacy Act and counsels on steps required to ensure compliance.
Before SAP, Sherin worked at Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC in the Technology Transactions Group, where she focused on IP transactions including licensing and development agreements.
She received a B.S., cum laude, in Cognitive Science at the University of California, San Diego in 2005, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and a J.D. from Santa Clara University in 2009, where she served as Symposium Editor for the Santa Clara Computer & High Technology Law Journal. Ms. Vollmuth also served as a law clerk to Justice Patricia Bamattre-Manoukian of the California Court of Appeal, Sixth Appellate District in 2009.
Sherin is a licensed attorney in California and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US).
