Biography
Victoria Reines has been Principal Counsel, Global Patent Litigation at Sanofi since last year. Before joining Sanofi, Victoria was at Arnold & Porter for over seven years, where she focused on life sciences patent litigation in a variety of forums. Victoria has practiced before U.S. district courts, the Federal Circuit, the U.S. Supreme Court, the Patent Trial & Appeal Board, and the International Trade Commission. Her practices includes cases relating to biologics, small molecules, medical devices, diagnostics, and gene therapy applications.
Most notably, she was a core member of the team that represented Sanofi and Regeneron in the Amgen v. Sanofi case before the United States Supreme Court that addressed enablement of functional genus claims. Victoria also has significant experience litigating issues related to biologics, and was involved in cases relating to blockbuster drugs Humira and Eylea.
During her time at Arnold & Porter and now at Sanofi, Victoria has been very focused on obviousness-type double patenting and terminal disclaimer issues, and has been closely following the Cellect case and its progeny.
