Biography

Yehudah Buchweitz is a partner in the Litigation Department of international law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. He is a nationally recognized litigator, specializing in a wide spectrum of complex commercial litigation and arbitration. Over the course of his 20-year career, he has developed a robust practice representing iconic companies in multi-hundred million dollar antitrust cases, among others. His clients include some of the most recognizable global companies and organizations, including Paramount Global, Providence Equity Partners, and Sanofi.

Yehudah has played lead roles in competition law matters that have had a tremendous impact on some of the most important business and technological developments of the current generation, including the advent of e-books and other digital media, major consolidations in the media sector, and the growth of global pharmaceutical joint ventures. He has represented leading television broadcasters in putative class actions, including issues related to spot advertising and software security. In the publishing space, he has secured several victories for Simon & Schuster against industry-wide antitrust claims. 

Through his pro bono practice, Yehudah is a prolific defender of religious and constitutional rights. Among his notable work, he has secured significant in-court and out-of-court victories that have protected observant Jewish communities around the New York City area from illegal discrimination. 

Yehudah is widely recognized by his peers and clients. Leading industry publications, including Chambers USA, Legal 500, Law 360, Benchmark, and New York Law Journal, have all recognized him with a bevy of accolades, including “MVP,” “Star,” and “Leading” lawyer. 

Yehudah is a graduate of Fordham University School of Law, where he was a member of the Fordham Law Review and Fordham Moot Court. He graduated from Brandeis University, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
