Overview
To use AI responsibly and well, lawyers need a foundational understanding of how AI technologies work. The expert faculty of this program will provide that understanding, and explore the roles and impacts of AI tools for legal workflows. Attend in person to discuss these topics with your peers during the networking lunch provided for registered attendees in New York City!
Why You Should Attend
Artificial intelligence, including generative AI, is changing the delivery of legal services in all practice areas and settings. New tools are rapidly being developed, presenting enormous opportunities to be more efficient, improve work product quality, and produce better outcomes in law practice. The question is not whether lawyers, law firms, legal departments, courts, legal aid organizations, and others will use these tools, but how they will use them responsibly and effectively in service of clients, practices, and society. Lawyers will need a foundational understanding of AI to fulfill their ethical obligations and capture opportunities to innovate successfully with AI. This program provides that foundation, addressing at a functional level how large language models, generative AI, and other AI tools work. The expert faculty will then explore the roles and impacts that AI tools can have on legal workflows, various AI use cases, considerations for building AI tools, evaluating AI performance, benefits, and risks, and the ethical, legal, and compliance considerations you need to be aware of as AI continues to reshape the practice of law.
