Overview

Since 1966, the Freedom of Information Act has given the public the right to seek a broad range of records from federal administrative agencies and to enforce those rights in Court. Used by individuals, scholars, activists, and corporations, it is a vital tool of democratic accountability and transparency. In this One-Hour Briefing, we will discuss the basics of making FOIA requests, exhausting the administrative appeal process, and litigating failures to disclose in federal court.
