Why You Should Attend
Following the June 2023 Supreme Court decisions striking down the affirmative action admissions programs at Harvard University and the University of North Carolina, there is uncertainty in law offices and legal departments about how to proceed with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs and initiatives. At this year’s annual “Diversity and Inclusion in Law Practice” program, you will gain a better understanding of the current state of diversity and inclusion in the legal profession, what these Supreme Court decisions mean for DEI programs going forward, and the practical policies and best practices to continue to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in your law office and the legal profession.
What You Will Learn
After completing this program, participants will be able to:
• Recognize what needs to be done (both individually and institutionally) to build an inclusive workplace
• Better understand the recent Supreme Court decisions, as well as other recent legal developments, and how these decisions might impact some of your DEI programs
• Identify proven practices and policies you can implement or maintain to continue advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in your law office, while remaining legally compliant
• Understand how to address DEI issues as a community
