Why You Should Attend

This program will explore best practices in collecting and presenting evidence in criminal and civil cases that involve domestic violence. Experienced practitioners will share their strategies and insights and will look at how the gathering of evidence in criminal and civil matters may intersect as well as how its collection, preservation, and use in proceedings can impact survivors of domestic violence.

After completing this program, participants will be better able to:

·     Prepare for evidentiary issues that arise in the prosecution of crimes of domestic violence

·     Assess, identify, and use evidence in civil cases involving domestic violence

·     Gather and present technology-facilitated abuse evidence

Who Should Attend

This program is designed for advocates in private, pro bono, or public interest practice, as well as government attorneys and court personnel, who interact with domestic violence survivors. The program will benefit both new and experienced practitioners, as well as those interested in pro bono practice, and will enhance their ability to work with survivors.
