Overview

Energy Law and Practice 2023: Greening the U.S. Power Grid

Why You Should Attend
The future of energy production and supply for the U.S. has become a pivotal focus of legal practice. To meet the growing demand from the legal community for guidance on key areas of transactions, regulatory compliance, and judicial perspectives, PLI is proud to join with Program Chair George “Chip” Cannon, Jr., and an incredible faculty for this comprehensive look into a legal and commercial framework for a low- or zero-carbon electric power grid in the U.S.

Participants will gain invaluable instruction from renowned industry leaders presenting on such timely topics as: regulatory and commercial trends in renewable development, the critical role of transmission infrastructure, the role of carbon in greening the grid, essential contracts in power purchase transactions, and how major energy suppliers are meeting these challenges.

• Negotiate and draft critical power purchase agreements
• Guide clients in aligning business models with current energy regulations
• Identify potential tax incentives for energy supplier clients 
• Position clients to participate in local infrastructure building efforts 
• Plan strategic investments in various renewable energy sectors
• Advise clients on market factors affecting supply chains
• Consider the diversification of resources for traditional energy suppliers including solar, wind, hydroelectric, and/or nuclear power

Who Should Attend
In-house counsel and outside attorneys advising energy providers on regulatory, financial, and transaction issues related to the changing energy industry, including increased market demand for renewable energy sources, will benefit from this program.
