Overview
Why You Should Attend
California’s MCLE compliance deadline of January 31, 2025 is fast approaching for Group 1 (attorneys with last names beginning with A-G). You can satisfy (almost) all of California’s MCLE special requirements at this fast-paced and engaging event! A faculty of outstanding California lawyers and other professionals, who are recognized leaders in their respective fields, will conveniently provide most of the California-required subjects that you need:
- Four hours of legal ethics
- One hour of dealing with competency issues in the legal profession, including stress and substance abuse.
- One hour of elimination of bias (please note that attorneys admitted in California must now complete 2 elimination of bias credits, including 1 implicit bias credit. This program offers 1 implicit bias credit only; an additional 1 credit of Elimination of Bias is still required.
- Please note that all California-barred attorneys are now required to complete 1 Civility and 1 Technology credit. This program does not offer either credit.

What You Will Learn
• Understand client due diligence obligations and the ABA’s recent amendments to Rule 1.16
• Review conflicts of interest – from advance waivers to motions to disqualify
• Investigate the latest developments in attorney ethics and the law of lawyering
• Examine the challenges to competent legal practice and identify resources to help address these issues
• Explore implicit bias and diversity, as well as its impact on the legal profession and workplace
Who Should Attend
All attorneys licensed to practice law in California, and particularly those whose last names begin with a letter from A through G (Group 1), should attend. Note: The State Bar of California has recently announced updates to the MCLE requirements. Learn about them on PLI’s California's New MCLE Requirements page.
Special Feature(s): Earn four hours of Ethics credit
One hour of Implicit Bias credit (California attorneys are required to earn at least two hours dealing with elimination of bias. One hour of Substance Abuse/Competence credit
